Ridge Caps

With the decorative pieces at peaks of the roof when there is an obtuse angle between the planes of the roof sheets along the ridge line, these roofing materials are known as asphalt ridge caps. Ridges don’t necessarily get hit with more rain, but the danger of moisture sneaking in through the peak is genuine if it’s not protected. Although, it helps to throw the rainwater away from the roof and keep it dry and clean.

Some builders prefer pre-fabricated roof caps composed of asphalt shingles, aluminum, and plastics. Many builders try to match the rest of the roof and many keep it uncovered ridge cap. Most of the ridge caps work as a ventilator and keep the temperature of the inside normal. The “V” shaped ridges allow the hot air to escape without letting the rainwater travel inside.
